5 Establishing a Stringent River and Lake Management and Protection System

Scientific and standardized management of waterways was strengthened and the Waterway Grading Methods (Tentative) was put forward.We pushed for pilot projects as the innovation in river and lake management and protection and put forward the Opinion on Strengthening River and Lake Management through summarizing and popularizing the successful experience of the system of "governors of rivers or lakes assuming overall responsibilities" The scope of river and lake management was designated and the Regulation on River and Lake Water Front Registration was drafted.
